The CHICKEN COOP LIBRARY
We Praise the Lord for His Faithfulness!
I received the Message, from Pastor Stephen, January 9, 2021,
via WhatsApp with Photos!
These words may seem a strange mix for celebration. But the Washrooms were the COMPLETION of the Heavy Construction for the Chicken Coop Children’s Library.
You see, before 2018, where the beautiful Manna of Life Library and Rec center now stand, was a long-abandoned, broken, chicken coop.
Once inhabited by clucking, feathered, egg-laying friends, this lovely large space, stood forgotten, waiting for a new life and new friends.
Who could know the plans of the Lord!
Our US Director, Christiana Tsitsiwu has the habit of saying,
“We should use whatever the Lord has put in our hands.
So, what is in your hand?”
As I walked thought that space, the Lord spoke vision. A Library and Rec center, for the community. This old chicken coop was an asset in our hand. We prayed.
Over the next 18 months, the LORD would resurrect this space into a vibrant place for reading and study, puzzles and song and play. The library is a gathering place for the children in the community. The shelves are filled with books and puzzles. Children’s happy voices now fill the air, around the old Mango tree in the yard.
We dedicated The Chicken Coop Children’s Library and Recreation Center to the Lord in August, 2019. It has been serving the children since.
It cost us prayer and effort and money and time and planning and more prayer and patience. But finally - the Word came.
“Washroom now complete.”
The heavy work is now complete, yet we still need shelves for the little children, and more books, and some small chairs, and more books, and a cabinet for the big kids’ supplies, and more books!
Have I said - MORE BOOKS ?
Yes - MORE BOOKS - We will put out a wish list later this year, but for now, we praise the Lord for resurrecting an old coop and filling it with life and learning!
AMEN!
